I love falafels, they are just soooo tasty!!!! So many recipes are quite complicated and take a while due to having to soak chickpeas for agesss. When I discovered this recipe I was very sceptical to how nice they would be considering from start to finish they only take about 10 mins.
I decided that the falafels by themselves simply wasn’t enough chickpeas, I may or may not be obsessed! So I decided to make these gorgeous Chickpea Flat breads/ Pancakes they are somewhere in between a pancake and a flat bread.
Ingredients (Two People):
Falafels
- 120g (1 Cup) Chickpea (Gram) Flour
- 2 tsp Ground Corriander
- 2 tsp Ground Cumin
- 1 tsp Coriander Leaf (Fresh or Jar)
- 130 ml Boiling Water
- 5 tbsp Oil
Flat bread/ Pancakes
- 120g (1 Cup) Chickpea (Gram) Flour
- 60ml (1/2 Cup) Cold water
Dip/Sauce
- 4 tbsp Cream Cheese
- 2 tsb Coriander Leaf
Instructions
- Mix all the falafel ingredients (except the oil) either by hand or stand mixture.
- Heat the oil and keep on a medium heat
- Use a tbsp spoon to spoon out the mixture into balls and place in the hot oil
- Turn the falafels occasionally – they will be ready when they are browned all over
- Whilst the falafels are cooking- pop the flat bread ingredients into a bowl and mix until you get a thick pancake like batter.
- Once the Falafels are ready take them out of the pan and put to one side
- Then ladle the batter into the pan that the falafels and cook and flip like a pancake.
- To make the dip/sauce simply mix the coriander into the cream cheese.
- Then plate up and enjoy 🙂
