Who doesn’t love a good take out every now and then, either as a cheeky treat or because quite frankly you cannot be bothered to cook.
These cravings do not however do not disappear when you are Gluten Free, for a while I basically tried my luck, getting glutened just over 50% of the time, a bit like playing Russian roulette to be honest.
That was until I found out about Chans which is based at the end of Henleaze on Wellington Hill and has a fairly large delivery radius. Continue reading
A little while back, I wrote a review on my lunch out at Friska (Link).
I don’t go out for lunch that often when I am at work, only when catching up with a friend, but when that is the case Friska is always my top choice. Continue reading
When I was in London for Toby Morrison’s UK CFS seminar (Link), a friend and I went for lunch at Camden market.
I hadn’t been back to Camden since going GF and I was very nervous firstly that I would be able to find anything GF, but also about cross contamination. Continue reading
Today a friend asked me if I wanted to meet up for a catch up at lunch. I jumped on the offer to have something other than my standard jacket potato and tuna from my works canteen, pretty much the only GF option.
As I don’t have a full hour break due to being on a phased return to work, I needed something quick and most importantly had a non potato GF option. So Friska on Victoria Street it was. Bristol as a city is full of great little finds, one of my favourites pre gluten free days was that every Thursday during the summer months, there would be this awesome food market, with alternated between a market in which you could by produce or one that would offer tasty meals you could eat for lunch.
So for my birthday the day after I was take to The Ox in Bristol (Link), I was taken to Graze in Bath (Link) by my parents, again it was a surprise so I was a little anxious as I couldn’t phone ahead.
We got to Graze and it is beautiful, unlike the Ox which is stunning in a probation era styled, Graze was wonderfully light and airy, and an amazing outside area. It is located right next to the train station so is very easy to get to even if you don’t live in Bath. Continue reading
Oxtraordinary -GF Review of The Ox (Bristol)
Steak is kind of my boyfriend and my thing. In our opinion you really cannot beat a good steak.
So for my birthday he booked The Ox (Link) as a surprise, I knew he was taking me out but had no idea where so I was feeling a little anxious as I had recently be accidentally glutened whilst eating out and hadn’t been able to call ahead etc to check there were options.
When we arrived outside the restaurant I was so excited I had wanted to go to The Ox since its opening last year, it is re known for its fabulous stakes and cocktails (which is to be expected as it is twined with the Milk-thistle). Continue reading
